We would like to shine a spot light on one of our dogs who has been here at the shelter now for OVER 500 days. Tara is one of the many dogs who gets loose from their owners on Fourth of July when they become panicked over the loud and scary fireworks. Tara was not one of the lucky one and was never reunited with her owners. Tara has sat here day after day and hoped that someone will finally choose her instead of the young puppy in the cage next to her. Over the months we have slowly seen the fire inside Tara's eyes dim as she starts to accept that the shelter is now her home. She has slipped in the routine here - day in and day out she repeats the daily happenings as if a machine. It is extremely sad to see Tara loosing hope. Tara is a 5 year old Pit Bull mix. She is well mannered and house broken She does have a Thyroid condition and will need to be on medication for the rest of her life. The medication is very inexpensive.
